Dr. Kropf joined the faculty of Georgia State University in 2006 as Director of the School of Social Work. Dr. Kropf ‘s area of research and scholarship is late life caregiving relationships, with specific emphasis on older adults as care providers. She is the Treasurer of the Gerontological Society of America and is a Fellow in the Social Research, Practice and Policy section. In addition, she was a John A. Hartford Geriatric Scholar (Cohort I) and held a Visiting Chairship in Gerontology at St. Thomas University (Canada). She is also a past president of the Association for Gerontology Education in Social Work (AGE SW), and served on the board of this organization for nine years. She currently serves on the Council of Conferences and Faculty Development of the Council on Social Work Education, and the Board of Directors of the National Association of Deans & Directors in Social Work.
In the area of grants and extramural funding, Dr. Kropf has received funding from the GA Department of Family and Children’s Service, Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), and the John A. Hartford Foundation. She has authored or edited nine books, and over eighty peer reviewed articles and chapters. Currently she is the Practice Forum Editor for the Journal of Gerontological Social Work.
